(Sacramento, August 29, 2024) – Actum LLC, a leading global consultancy firm, today announced that Dan Seeman has joined as Partner and Steve Burns as Managing Director, effective immediately. Earlier this year, Faith Borges, Anthony Molina and Esteban Núñez joined Actum as Senior Vice Presidents.

Dan Seeman brings 15 years of policy and political experience in both the Governor’s Office and the State Legislature, having been at the center of some of the most consequential criminal justice and social policy reforms in California’s history. Seeman most recently served as Deputy Cabinet Secretary to Governor Newsom where he advised on matters related to corrections, public safety, and criminal justice. Prior to that, he was Deputy Legislative Secretary to Governor Jerry Brown and was legislative consultant to State Senator Mark Leno.

Burns has worked in public policy, government affairs, and communications for over 30 years. Before consulting, Burns worked at Chevron in a series of executive positions that included leading Chevron’s California government affairs team in Sacramento, where he was named three years in a row as one of the “top 100” power brokers in California politics. He began his career as staff to Ways & Means Committee Chairman Dan Rostenkowski.
